I think truth as absolute is a myth. If you change your mind on something, it can become truth or a lie.

What is truth?
by spectromize inah!
yes, that remark made by pilate after pilate had asked jesus wether he was a king.
( john 18:37-38 ).. how would you answer the question according to what we know from the bibles definition, and how the faithful and discreet slave have endeavored to give us spiritual food at the proper time?.

When you were an active JW, what did you pray for?
by JH inno matter if god granted what you asked or not, what did you pray for ?
-
White Dove
I prayed to love people like Jesus loved them. I wanted to be more like him in my attitude toward others, and that included non-JW's when I prayed for that while still in. I hated the judgmental attitudes of those around me and decided that change needed to start with me. Me was the only one that I could control, so it made sense.

Sounds like Angry White Man needs an anti-depressant. Sounds like he has no friends, either. He's so negative and can't see the beauty in the people and world around him. All he can see is how he can use them and abuse them. He mopes around all day about how life would be better if...He isn't even happy with his arm candy/trophy wife. She can do better!

Yeah, I wondered that myself. I'm exploring Wicca as it teaches about nature, and that is what I am looking for. I want to understand myself and understand what I live in: nature and its power and how to be at peace in it. I am not bossed by religion but use this one to learn. It's more like a philosophy than following a bunch of dogma and rules. It turns me on (no, not sexually). I'm very happy with it as I can choose what to believe and what to use as metaphore.

Question for you born ins
by startingover inwhen i was growing up as a born in jw, i remember the fear that dfing stirred up within me.
as a kid, seeing a df'd person was quite a scary thing.
thinking back about how it was growing up, it occurred to me that at the time, i never realized that a person had to be baptized in order to be df'd.

Don't mean to kill the thread because I always seem to, but I was a born-in and my df'd grandparents seemed like these tainted, labeled, mysterious people who never came by our house. I never really understood why they were so hated. They seemed nice enough. I never got to know them but am trying to change that now.

Elders knew a woman got raped- the woman presses charges but case was
by cognac indropped because there wasn't enough evidence.
the elders did there investigation and could probably help the case out a lot because they found the woman to be innocent and the guy guilty... they knew eachother through jws.
he was going to the meetings his whole life, but didn't have any priviledges.. 6-8 months later he became a publisher.

In the U.S., 15 out of 16 rapists never spend a night in jail. 98% of women DO NOT CRY RAPE!
99.5% of children who say they were molested by someone were TELLING THE TRUTH!
Just believe the victims.

Unconfused,
Women know upon waking if they have been violated due to soreness and stickiness. Anyone can tell if sleep was natural or drug induced, can't they?

Rape is the only crime where the victim has to prove resistance. No one asks a robbery victim why they didn't fight back.

Unconfused,
I won't rip you because that is a fair question. Only 2% of reported rapes are false reports. 98% of rape reports are true. If someone says they've been raped, believe it.

73% of JW's leave "The Truth." Jehovah's Witnesses 2008 statistics revisted
by Spook ini participated in several discussions on this forum regarding the self reported statistics of jehovah's witnesses and the deep fundamental flaws in their methods.
after arguing with my jw family about these issues, i encountered today a new independant religious survey from the pew forum on religion and public life.
this survey was huge in scope of test group when compared with other similar surveys, including more than 35,000 u.s. adults.

I read and posted that % in another thread and it said that the 63% applied to those born in and leaving. It was a survey given and 63% of those born in and baptized said that they eventually left. That's what the article that I read said. It was done by Pew, as well.
